Four steps — from verification rights to the finished microcredential on the website and in the app.
As an educator you get the right to confirm the learning objectives your students reach.
Build any microcredentials into your lessons — the matching curriculum comes automatically, e.g. as a PDF.
When a student reaches a learning objective, you confirm their skills with one click.
Your students receive their microcredentials directly on the website or in the app — free.
Skills live in a shared SkillTree, and the same skill sits in many credentials. So what you confirm for your students is not a single checkmark — it counts everywhere that skill is needed.
Once you confirm a skill, it counts in every credential that includes it — across subject and community boundaries. Your confirmation travels on with the learner.
Because every credential breaks down into skills, SkillDisplay matches it against job openings and suggests learning resources for open gaps — concrete value for your students.
That’s the short version — and all of it is already live.

No. For learners, microcredentials are always free — they receive them directly on the website or in the app as soon as you confirm the learning objective they reached.
SkillDisplay grew out of an Erasmus+ project — with the mission to make education accessible through open, verifiable standards — and is recognised as an innovation by the Austrian IÖB. That is why access stays free for educators and learners forever. The system is carried by companies and providers who buy slots, and by sponsors who fund education — never by those who learn and teach.
You keep teaching as before and issue credentials to existing standards. Onboarding = form + verification, then you are ready right away.
They collect real, verifiable microcredentials to industry standard — proof that counts in the job market and eases the start of a career. Their skills are visible and verified from day one.
Then the network starts it. Members of the SkillDisplay Educator Network draft a proposal for the missing skills. It is available immediately — clearly marked as a community proposal, so recognisably not yet official. Other educators can comment on it and suggest improvements. If interest is strong enough, SkillDisplay approaches the vendor to obtain an official, binding definition.
