Description

Installing Drupal Core and Drupal CMS using the Drupal Installation User Interface.

Goals

• Complete a successful Drupal installation - Learners will be able to install Drupal using the installation wizard from start to finish
• Distinguish between Drupal CMS and Drupal Core installation processes - Learners will be able to explain the differences between installing Drupal CMS (pre-configured with recommended modules) and Drupal Core (minimal base system), and choose the appropriate option for their project needs
• Configure pre-installation requirements - Learners will be able to set up the necessary server environment (database, file permissions, PHP settings) before starting the installation
• Select and configure the appropriate installation profile - Learners will understand the differences between installation profiles (Standard, Minimal, Demo) and choose the right one for their needs
• Configure essential site settings during installation - Learners will be able to set up site name, email address, default language, regional settings, and initial administrator account
• Understand the installation process steps - Learners will be able to explain what happens at each stage of the installation (requirements check, database setup, site configuration, installation completion)
• Troubleshoot common installation issues - Learners will be able to identify and resolve typical installation problems such as database connection errors, file permission issues, or missing PHP extensions
• Verify successful installation - Learners will be able to confirm that Drupal has been installed correctly and access both the frontend and backend of the new site
